Le Diner de Cons

A French comedy. A group of upperclass snobs organize regular dinners in which they compete to see who can bring along the biggest 'idiot' as a guest. The movie tells the story of how one such idiot guest attempts to assist his host win back his wife.

Surprisingly funny movie, mainly because of the idiot, played by the late Jacques Villeret. The actor has a hilariously elastic face, and really delivered a funny performance. Villeret apparently passed away in early 2005; I will have to track down some of his other performances.

Prick of a host. Funny idiot guest. Funny taxman, undeserving of his fate. Stupid friend -- the guy stole and married your wife, why are you helping him get her back? Sheesh, the French...
